Kinds of hosting solutions

A hosting service refers to stashing and/or sharing certain web content on a server managed by a hosting distributor. There are various sorts of hosting services used for various purposes, so let's have a gaze at these. In this way, you can conclude what you need, depending on whether you wish to set up a web page, mail accounts, or to share files with buddies and partners.

- File hosting: a solution provided by given web hosts, which allows you to share big files. These could be disk images, movies, audio files, archived documents, and so on. This solution is also known as file storage, and its single aim is to share files, since it does not support website uploading. As soon as the files are uploaded, you will either get a randomly created download link for each of them, or you will be able to examine a record of all the files in a directory, but you will not be able to load .html or .php website files in your web browser. Free-of-charge file storage accounts are often supported by exhibiting ads by the download links, while a timer obliges you to wait for a specific stretch of time to perceive them. A given file can be downloaded with limited speed. If you run a paid file hosting account, there are no limitations as to how many files you can upload/download immediately, and also there is no limit as far as the download speed and the file size are concerned.

Now, with the assistance of the cPanel hosting firms, "file hosting" is being renamed to the more modish "cloud hosting". This is a thoroughly improper interpretation of the real connotation of "cloud hosting". An actual cloud website hosting platform would share the load between independent bunches of web hosting servers in a cluster, which are committed to serving different web page hosting services (electronic mail, disk space, statistics, DNS, databases, web site hosting Control Panel, etc.) So, the file hosting service is simply a sort of a disk space hosting solution, not a cloud hosting one. It's not even near.

- Image hosting: akin to file hosting; some vendors provide a hosting solution for images solely. This hosting type is suitable if you would like to share an immense number of pictures with friends or acquaintances since the service is generally free. You will receive a random link for each pic or album and you can subsequently share this link. As with the file hosting service, .html and .php files are not compatible, so the service cannot be used for sites.

- Email hosting: a solution dedicated to administering your mailbox accounts. Some companies offer web space hosting solutions for web pages, but do not provide an e-mail hosting solution. If you want to open an e-mail address with your domain name but do not desire to possess a web site, then the e-mail hosting solution is what you require. You can open mail accounts and administer them, but there will be no web service for the domains. The e-mail hosting service involves incoming POP/IMAP and outgoing SMTP mail servers.

- Video hosting: this solution permits you to upload and share videos. You can either share a link to some video clip, or you can embed the video in your website that is hosted elsewhere. The advantage of availing of this method instead of uploading the video in a hosting account is that the video file produces a specific amount of central processing unit load, so with a bunch of video clips and several hundred web site viewers, you may have a hard time with your web space hosting reserves. Embedding the video file will allow you to run as many video files as you desire without worrying about system resources.

- Web hosting: this is the service that you require if you desire to have a web site. To a certain degree, it consists of all of the abovementioned hosting types since, along with your web sites, you can also host pics and files, you can create databases and e-mail accounts, upload video files, and so on. At CloudNEO, for instance, you can take a peek at web hosting and dedicated web server hosting plans that permit you to have all of the aforesaid services in a single location. There may be limits depending on the type of hosting service that you've picked - a free hosting account, a paid shared hosting plan, a VPS or a dedicated server. Depending on that, your web page hosting package may be better or worse compared to the normal email/file/video/image hosting packages that are made for particular content only.
